At long, long, last I have finished my many months of working daily overtime and weekends. I hope to get back into my art now, and will hopefully be posting some. But for now I need time to adjust. I should be ecstatic. Perhaps I will be in a few days.
Work has continued taking up all my time. It got to the point where I was pretty ill. Real dizzy and faint-y whenever I got out of my seat. Recently the computer network could take no more and gave up, and we got a couple days off. The schedule was altered and since being back and a little rested, things have been going a bit better. 2 former workmates from Perth, the powerful animation couple of Tim and Rosie have joined us, and another workmate is back from Korea, so things should be getting easier finally. Still overtime, but less.
Hopefully I can start make my own art again. I still intend to finish the 5 images for the meme I posted at the start of the year.
My housemates sister wanted me to make an image to clients for the glasses frames place she works at:

first attempt below. Borrowed another artists style a bit, what with having little time and all, but she wanted something cuter.

I remember being a bit worried about suddenly going to live in Canada in 2007. Luckily I found tiny_vice's neat journal just before i I left, which helped show me that Canada wasn't going to be a scary place at all.

A while ago I made an entry about making drawings for the first people to post comments. Here's one for Blake. Otherwise known as
haze

Hm, Iv'e been reading old Grant Morrison comics again. I do like his "Doom Patrol".
Blake is actually a friend of mine who I met in 2006. Since then we've spent most of that time in other parts of the world. He currently lives in Korea and enjoys a celebrity lifestyle that comes from being a redhead there.
This is how the image first started out as.

Here's a slightly drunken drawing of my housemate who's suddenly moving out this week.

No scanner, so these are just photos of the drawings.

Good news, I managed to land a job as an animator in one of the main studios here in Melbourne! I start monday.

The new of Montreal cd was delivered this morning. Its crazy dozen panel fold out packaging inspired me to draw this.
Saturday is the Northbridge festival. 3 of my comics will be sold at the 24 hour comics stall there!
This is for chamonkee's fanart contest.

I seem to be switching art styles rather frequently these last few months. Im happy with the style of last weeks 24 hour comic, but thinking in a certain style was pretty difficult.
I am curious, can anyone recall any style that they might be particuarly fond of?

My friend aussiepoida has generously offered to print Glorpy's comic for free at his workplace. It will be on sale at the Northbridge festival, November 1st.
While at his office, I witnessed 1 suicide attempt through the window. Fortunately the person was rescued by the police.
One Glorpy also found its way to the Candycult exhibit.

The exhibit was put together by ohayo_sakura

The comic turned out really well. Half an hour before leaving my family got a call that my older sister started haveing contractions. The baby was born shortly after I got home from the 24 hour event the next day. Its a girl, and her name is Milana.
Facts about making the comic:
-It inculdes several homages (this helped make making new characters easier)
The chicken costume guy from the 2006 24 hour comic
Glumble is a reference to Bumblebee
Glound, Soundwave (originally Wolverine, but it didnt look right). The mouth is kinda like his chest door.
Glyguy; Shyguys from the Super Mario games
Glariknow wears Super Mario's clothes.
-My favorite pages are pages 10, 16 and 18 (all splash pages)
-I used a similar style inspired from the cut up technique. Where I wrote a series of random words out beforehad, and inserted them into otherwise normal sentences. Although I only remembered to apply this for the middle of the comic.
-The bubble-travel thing was something I once used in '04 in a flash animation. Going back to previous pages and adding bubbles was simple enough.
I have purchased my ticket for Melbourne. I will be leaving early November.
Heres a bunch of life drawing images. The first 5 are from last December/January in Vancouver, and the rest from the last few weeks.
I dont have a scanner, so theyre just some quick photos

Also, I finally brought a drawing tablet. Just a small one, though. Up until now Ive only been drawing with a mouse.

This was done on my laptop with a mouse in Flash 8.
Very low quality though, compressed a whole lot for youtube. Hopefully it still reads ok.
There was meant to be a pause in the music when the anvil hits, but they didnt want the music to stop. Other than that, I just made up whatever I wanted and ran it by my pal Eric, who works for the band.
my niece has mastered being on grown up toilets, but is still a fair way away from reaching the seat

Hey Australian friends. The last episode of Dogstar will be on tv this saturday. Channel 9, a few minutes past 8am. Not many people I know have checked it out yet, so this is your last chance. Its not exactly groundbreaking television or anything, but I did a lot on the last one. These include:
- the scenes with the newsreader in the first half.
- the scenes with the main villain in the second half.
- crowd and missilaneous character shots.
- scenes with buildings falling down.

having some computer problems on many levels. my home computer in particular isnt looking good at all. been offline for a little while too.
lately ive been working on a flash animation for a local band. its proving to be pretty difficult work as i have to come up with everything for this and make it all come together somehow. also, im adopting a '50's style approach to the style. the style may look simple, but its harder than it looks. so far im most fond of the movement in the whale scene, and plane transformation (it looks much much better in motion).
